Madalene is the powerhouse behind Colyn & Associates - a firm she founded with the vision of creating a client-centred, women-led practice grounded in excellence, empathy and empowerment.

With over two decades in the legal profession, Madalene has built a reputation as a specialist in property law, known for her thorough, solutions-driven approach and her ability to make even the most complex transactions feel seamless.

As Head of Conveyancing, she oversees a team with more than 50 years of combined experience, managing everything from high-value commercial transfers to first-time homebuyer transactions with the same precision and care.

Nevashni Moodley

Nevashni leads our Litigation and Family Law department with passion, purpose and an unshakable sense of justice. With close to 15 years of experience in civil litigation and family law, she brings a perfect balance of legal precision and personal empathy to every case she handles.

Known for her ability to manage high-stakes disputes with grace and grit, Nevashni represents her clients with a strong voice - whether she is standing in court or negotiating across the table.

Her areas of expertise include general civil litigation, divorce, maintenance disputes, childcare and contact matters, evictions, contract drafting and interpretation, and contractual litigation. She is a firm believer in resolving matters strategically - but is always ready to fight when it counts.

Clients often describe Nevashni as tenacious yet compassionate, able to offer both clear legal insight and genuine emotional support when it matters most.

With over 30 years of hands-on experience in all aspects of conveyancing, Rochelle is the steady hand and expert eye every successful property transaction needs. As a senior Conveyancing Paralegal at Colyn & Associates, she plays a key role in managing the day-to-day processes that keep property matters moving - accurately, efficiently and on time.

Rochelle’s extensive knowledge spans across residential and commercial transfers, bond registrations and cancellations, sectional title schemes, and estate-related property transfers. She is known for her precision, deep procedural knowledge and her ability to anticipate and resolve issues before they become delays.

With nearly 20 years of legal experience, Leandri brings a wealth of knowledge, efficiency and compassion to her role in our Estate Planning and Administration Department.

Before joining Colyn & Associates, Leandri led the Correspondent department at a prominent Cape Town law firm, where she honed her organisational skills and developed a sharp understanding of legal processes across various practice areas. Today, she channels that experience into guiding families through the often complex world of estate administration with clarity, care and professionalism.

Leandri is instrumental in handling everything from liaising with the Master’s Office, to coordinating with clients and managing key estate documents and timelines. Her ability to communicate legal requirements in a clear and empathetic way ensures clients always feel informed and supported during what can be a sensitive time.

Hanri Pretorius

General Office Administrator

Hanri is the newest addition to the Colyn & Associates team, bringing fresh energy, a can-do attitude, and an eagerness to learn in her role as General Office Administrator.

Having recently matriculated, Hanri quickly stepped into a dynamic support role where she assists across multiple departments - from opening client files, visiting Estate Agent offices, supporting marketing efforts, and lending a hand wherever she’s needed.

Her role is as versatile as it is essential, and Hanri approaches every task - no matter how big or small - with enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine interest in growing within the legal profession.

Whether she's helping prepare marketing materials, delivering documents, or supporting the administrative flow of the office, Hanri plays a key role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
